It hasn't worked for some months. The cynic in me says it is because BA are making it more difficult for people claiming for compensation to find out how much BA are willing to sell Avios for. Somebody must have looked at a report and thought "Mmm, we haven't sold any Avios again. Wonder why?" Then forgot about it for another week or month before deciding to have a promotion to boost cash flow.
