I'm thinking of something here, but I don't think I recommend it. Could be risky.
The sooner the SIN flight is, the bigger the chance that it will be rescheduled due to airspace restrictions.
AY has amended their SIN schedules for April, but I don't know how far up they've done it. But that's easy to check.
If prices are similar, ie no fare difference, then OP could move the flights now. Pick new ones sooner than August, thus increasing the chances of a schedule change + refund.
