Personally I’m always for row 1 in Club Europe, in any other (non exit) row the knees are touching the seat in front.

If you only have a rucksack you shouldn’t have an issue stowing it overhead, as others have mentioned, try and board with group 1 and you’ll be fine.

You also get the advantage of being served earlier/more likely to get your first choice
