Is UA just going to make an 'unplanned' tech stop in BGR every day and sell DEL-EWR as a non-stop?

Is DEL-ORD really shorter than DEL-EWR when not going over Russia? Don't know how they can do DEL-ORD non-stop but not DEL-EWR.
