NZ has a routing to AKL currently. One of my kids did this from JFK-AKL using miles and cash with a one day layover in HNL to make it work in Jan 2020.
Jetstar (owned by QF) also flew from HNL to SYD/MEL. Has a B787 business class (~more like better PE) that for a daylight trip was considered good value by some. If more adventurous can use FJ HNL to NAN to NZ
