Had an awful experience today in canceling a few flights. Delta had made schedule changes to some of my flights , and as they were not convenient for me I went online to cancel the reservations. This sucks . I know that others have had the same problem but lots were unsuccessful. I tried all of the different options available using Edge, Chrome, Firefox etc , however none works. The system goes into a loop and returns an error code. Having tried for a couple days I resorted to calling a telephone number that I often use to resolve issues. Had a 5 mins wait and a very pleasant young lady answered the phone. Explained my problem and she was very helpful in cancelling the flights . Before I came off the line I questioned her as to if the E-Credit would be showing up in my account (s). She sent me an email confirming the cancellation however the e-credit showed up in my account as the ticket number.(not as an e-credit) Went online into my account and as I suspected the e-credit was nowhere to be found. Tried all the different options and the message came back that no e-credits were posted nor were they to be found. As I have had this problem before I called Delta again and and ended up with another very helpful individual ( however this person although very pleasant was totally at a loss as to what I was trying to have done.I was on the phone over an hour before I gave up. Before I hung up the phone I very very carefully explained to her what I wanted to see in my account. (the E-credit) She promised to have a supervisor look into it . I left and returned home about 90 mins later., logged into my account with out any high expectations and to my surprise the E-CREDITS were showing up.
Having this resolved before hand saves me a lot of time and aggravation when I am ready to re-book. I am at a loss as to why the system does not correctly issue the e-credit.I have had to make about 20 changes during the last two years . In that time only ONCE had the system performed as it should in issuing the e-credits correctly to my accounts (myself and wife)
