Definitely understand why they would want to do this, but still disappointed that it means a solid credit will go unredeemed this year.
Earlier this year, I booked a sub-$200 FHR rate for a 2-night stay in April. So, I wouldn't say it's dead, but I can imagine that these low rates would be hard to find at the last minute or during the holiday season.
