Recent PG (Bangkok Airways) domestic experience, Carry on weight checks?
I'm going to have a domestic flight on PG soon (A319) and am curious about their carry on weight (very low 5kg). How frequently do they weigh carry ons (medium size backpack, not roller nor giant backpacker backpack)? I found some very old threads that mention it's rarely checked, but then a more recent post said they got weighed on 5 or 6 segments consistently.
Mine will be a backpack, but basically nothing inside of it can be checked in even if they wanted to. PC, Camera, Drone, Bluetooth speaker (with lithium battery built in), 2 power banks (lithium batteries of course). Basically everything is lithium so they can't check it in, but the PC is beast for video editing and therefore HEAVY, it's 2kg by itself without a charger. (no I can't travel with out my PC and no I'm not buying a Macbook air).
I'm probably overthinking it and it's a non-issue. The only one time I ever had an issue was on SA from DUR-JNB several years ago with some camera gear that they also didn't want to take responsibility for checking in so they put it in a closet as SA absolutely refused to allow you to take 2 carry on bags into the cabin. I notice PG makes no mention of a personal item outside the allowance, so guessing they mean everything all in, otherwise I could put the PC in it's own slimline bag. Then the backpack should be fine at 5kg.
