But even if you have to buy separate tickets, you just need to do online check in or do a check in at the airside transfer counters to do an airside transfer. JAL will check luggage through to BA on separate tickets. But BA as a principle does not.

JAL operates from T3 and BA Paris flights from T5, so don't book too tight.

Thank you. I spoke to JL but they said in such case they will only provide the transportation to LHR. Hence my question. But I guess he should be fine then. Luggage is no problem as I can get in/out of UK, so planning to check everything under my name.
