certainly not in real estate, but doesn’t the landlord and tenant negotiate based on their needs. While certainly many rent agreements are a flat monthly rent fee, I think there are many commercial agreements that also incorporate rent and X% of sales. Obviously, the latter scenario would be less of a flat monthly compared to the former, where that is the only source of revenue for the landlord.
