When? Been to AU - MEL / SYD before?

AC has flight YVR-SYD. UA used to have SFO-MEL. Unusure when that will return. Look at UA SFO/LAX-SYD. Some get awards on UA, but not many.

SYD-MEL is 60~70 minutes wheels up / wheels down. A commuter run by airlines QF, VA, JQ & REX. Buy cash if needed, but allow plenty of time for the Inter (T1) to Dom (T2 T3) SYD transfer

Premium awards USA/Canada<--->AU have always been hard to get with any airlines/alliance
Airlines are AC UA QF AA DL UA HA. And Air NZ via AKL (who are stingy for partner awards)
Less flights now compared to say 2019. But schedules are increasing.
D-I or I-D connections at SYD are a pain. Try to avoid if possible. [In addition, Australia had been using different COVID-19 entry, testing, and quarantine requirements for different states, so if Melbourne is the destination, it could be wise to avoid NSW along the way.]
