I think many of us are in this position now. The GUC change is huge for me and while it is true that there are still ways to use them, it takes hours more work than it used to. Having some status on another airline seems like a good idea now. Having said that, I appreciate how much easier it is for me to get someone on the phone and how flexible DL was with me for the past two years (lots of exceptions to rules when I needed to make changes).

No easy answer but I lean toward multiple years of Platinum rather than one of Diamond.
