I have a connection on my flight to Manchester on April 19, and even though my connection is really long (five and half hours), it will be nice if CX can adjust its departure time. It should be easily done with little transit traffic now. They can depart from HKG at 12am instead of 1am to make up for the longer flying time now.

Actually, it's not that easy. Airline flying is not "close the door and go", though highly regulated by permissions, laid out in operational flight plans, etc. And the flight plans through China are rigid, because large parts of China are "just military" and the non-military commercially available routes are crowded. The original reason of so many HKG night-departure delays.
