Setting aside the merits of DM vs PM (worth it for me, maybe less valuable for others), I wouldn’t make a decision regarding now based on what might happen in 24/25. Too much uncertainty between now and then—too many factors beyond your control.

Focus on the now. Plenty of time to figure out 2024 or 2025 later.
