If it returned empty, the cruise sounds more likely. A little unsure why it went back via Bridgetown for either scenario, but FR24 indicates that it did.
I am guessing this is to do with crew. On the double-drop routes, they tend to have one crew for the LHR - BGI sector, then pick up a second crew who fly BGI - ANU - BGI, and then a third crew who fly back BGI - LHR.
