On airlines, same airline, they'll cancel one or both reservations if they see an impossible overlap. Does Hyatt do the same? Obviously Corporate could see an issue, I imagine the independent franchisees would not...
I do that as well, when it is months out. „Speculative bookings“ are against the T&C, so i cancel pretty well much in advance (multiple months). I would never keep 2 reservations until a few days prior to arrival. I am sure Hyatt has possibilities to audit.
