Your path of least resistance/effort is to ask to be put on the ORD-ZRH flight and keep your current flight to FLR. Your connection chances go way up in ZRH and that is an efficient airport. Besides, if it requires a longer layover at ORD then you have the Polaris Lounge to enjoy.
