I'm a newbie in this forum, so I may be all wet. But N13954 is flying SFO-NRT today as UA2788, and NRT-XMN as UA2764. It is my understanding (from a thread on Reddit) that United 27xx flight numbers are used for non-revenue repositioning/ferry flights. If so, I speculate something significant went wrong on N13954 which got patched up enough to be airworthy in FRA, and it's now heading to XMN for heavy maintenance. OTOH I may be dripping puddles on the floor. I still don't see N27957 or N24972 scheduled out of XMN.
