I'm 1.8+ m tall and the bulk head monitor is comfortable for me. But there was once when I was travelling with children between ages 6-10 they felt the monitor was too high for them. So even though bulk heads were available once we got to the cabin, they opted to stay in their originally assigned non bulk heads and not switch to the front. I can imagine it can be a further "strain" for even younger, shorter, children.
