I like the ability to have a pouch for easy access to my iPad, keys, etc. I don't like that the bag has a zipper. (I'm thinking that this is of less concern with a carryon but I may be wrong.) I also don't like that Rimowa does not provide a padlock for the pouch when you're paying $800 for the bag.
My other Rimowa bags are Topas aluminum.
How do you feel about this bag? Buy? Don't buy?
Did you end up buying the Sleeve?
I can't decided between the Original Cabin Twist or Essential Sleeve Cabin.
I travel the world HLO, generally with a cabin bag and a holdall which I sit on top.
I love the Original, however I often open my bag in flight which in F is in a restricted space. I get the sense that needing to put the bag on the floor and open fully to retrieve anything could be difficult.
I always have a sleeve so at security I can easily whip out my laptop and iPad. The zippers also mean I can open and close the bag easily. However, it feels less valuable given the bag is essentially Plastic vs Aluminium. I could put my laptop and iPad in my holdall, but it would get very heavy.
I think I'll shave to go in store and see.
