For overland travel I'd take the fast ferry to Germany (Helsinki - Travemünde), train to Hamburg, ICE train to Munich and night train to Rome. Faffing around via Estonia and Poland (and then Prague and Vienna) is feasible as a holiday experience in itself but it's no use if you want to get from A to B quickly without getting on a plane
