Just keep checking as guests cancel at the last minute. Unfortunately, it is not guaranteed that cancelled awards will return to the award inventory.
Also, if you cancel, be sure you check any penalties that may be assessed.
Unfortunately I can vouch for this! A friend released 6 nights about an hour ago in the hope that I could grab them but they still haven't come back into inventory. Frustrating as I'm on a limited window and it means I'll have to book cash again.
