In February an email from SAS informed me that the CPH-BLL segment was replaced by CPH-OSL-BLL. Not that I mind because the BLL times were a 10p arrival and a 6a departure. The new times are much better, and it’s been too long since I had a chance to look around OSL.
Then yesterday our SFO-CPH flight was moved to two days later to match OSL-BLL, which doesn’t fly every day. SAS happily changed that to three days earlier instead, which also happens to allow for lounge time. I can’t believe my luck.
TK is a lot more generous in this respect:
I booked a C award flight to JFK in April using their promo miles offer (30% off so it's like 60k miles C round trip to the US), one of my legs was cancelled. I don't want to go to JFK (that's the only destination in Americas that has the promo award), so I called TK and after talking to 3 agents I was able to change my destination to YVR without extra charge and made my trip a couple of days longer too
