Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a premium King room and got upgraded to corner suite in the Club wing. Unsure if there are suites in the 'regular' wing but was very happy with upgrade

How are the rooms?

Huge living room and bedroom with two bathrooms decorated in traditional Costa Rica style (a lot of wood, beams on the ceiling, double doors, etc.) A bit of wear and tear but this country has suffered very badly from COVID and the lack of tourism for the last 2 years that it was nothing something that bothered me. Generally everything was in good shape, shower had great water pressure, AC worked well, very well soundproofed (at least where we were in the corner)

How is the exec. lounge?

As stated above, got upgraded to Club and that was very good value for money for the rate that I paid. They call it a continental breakfast in the morning but there are hot items (local sausage, bacon, rice/beans, veg) as well as cold items. Can get eggs cooked to order. Happy hour from 6PM-8PM has a good spread of cold cuts, soup, and different mains (there were 3 to choose from) plus complimentary alcoholic beverages. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony overlooking the pol area. Service was excellent

What was good and what was bad?

Staff was professional and efficient, all our requests were handled quickly and accurately.

Pool area was fantastic and the everything was very clean.

Food quality was OK for the price, they have 4 different restaurants but I think they should perhaps reduce the number and increase the quality. Service at the main bar was great.

The only 'bad' thing is it does not really have any of the Tico hospitality that you find in the rest of the country, this place caters to expat and the service is efficient, not friendly (at first).

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Would return in a heartbeat and got very good value for our money.
