I still feel bad after the fact--being combative like that really isn't my style, because I did tell her 'who I was'. But I do feel a bit vindicated after reading the replies here. ^

I realized I didn't mention it in my first post, but a further guess for me being in the "Premier Line" and her wanting to check my credentials may have had to do with the fact I had my 5 and 7 year-olds in tow with me. As much as our young GS/1Ks draw eyes as mentioned above (I was Premier Executive at 20 myself, so I know that side too, now in my mid-40s, I also don't get a second glance--much). With my wife parking the car, perhaps the fact I looked like a disheveled dad at 5AM, lugging bags and car seats, going on no sleep may have also played into her "WDYTYA" (but certainly not defending "Karen's" behavior)...But certainly, elite flyers DO travel with their families too!
