I chose the Mena House because you can walk from the hotel up to the Pyramids and Sphinx. However I was stopped quite a few times by police officers with their hands out asking for money and I politely kept walking away but could hear their sharp urging to come back.

It’s not that far of a walk as it’s slightly up hill but be prepared to deal with a lot of unscrupulous people.
