Really thinking about getting the Venture X, and downgrading to CSP (probably) or canceling the CSR. Couple of questions/ confirmations on this though.

first, one complication is potentially that I received a retention bonus in Oct. Is it still possible to cancel and/or downgrade now? Will the bonus (or travel credit/Nexus reimbursement, both of which I’ve used in the last two weeks) potentially get clawed back? I don’t remember if there was a specific term I needed to keep the account as a CSR for the bonus.

I think I’d downgrade since my renewal was 10/1, and there’s still more than half the year left on it, so presumably the fee would pro-rate - if canceling, would probably make sense to wait.

Im not sure if there’s a better forum for this q, but is there any major downside to having a Venture X vs. CSR. Benefits seem fairly similar (obviously some differences, like their travel credit is for their portal only vs. wide open for CSR), and obviously, the lower AF at Cap1 doesn’t hurt. I think the biggest thing could be the 1.5 to 1.25 cents value of points on the portal (assuming I downgrade to CSP), but I’m not sure the amount of spend I do and the AF difference makes it worth that. Cap1 also doesn’t have the transfer option to UA, which is my preferred carrier, but then again, CSP still has that option at the same ratio. Appreciate any insight.
