Found the Achilles heel of this resort. The food. The lack of flavor is astounding. I’m not just talking salt and pepper. Most of it is lacking in herbs and spices. It’s about as universally bland as I’ve experienced across the portfolio of on resort restaurants. That’s one area where the WA ithaafushi has it soundly beat. I had a conversation with some of the staff in charge of food, and they explained it’s to match the “European palette” but the food I had in Paris was to die for. It’s pretty depressing to pay $300 for dinner, and be thoroughly disappointed.
