Is overnight stay at Toronto YYZ no longer possible?

On the Government of Canada’s official website regarding travel restrictions (which I am not allowed to link to – acc. to the owners of Flyer-talk) there are three things to consider if you want to transit through a Canadian airport without entering into Canada. It would be so much easier to explain if I could link to the website about “Transit to another country by air” – but it is prohibited because I am new here.

1) It’s ok if you arrive and depart from the same Canadian airport within 24 hours
2) It’s ok if your connection occur on the same day – at all Canadian airports
3) But (!!) overnight connections are not possible at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and three other airports in Canada.

I understand 1 and 2.

And I will arrive and depart within 24 hours – and my connection occur on the same day (on a Sunday arriving at 0055 and departing on the same Sunday at 2200).

However I do not understand no. 3. What is an “overnight connection”? I tried to find the meaning of this via Google, but still unable to get the point.

Does this mean that I will HAVE to go through all the trouble and difficulties with the AririveCAN app (= having to have an extremely expensive PCR test done, preparing a several pages long quarantine plan etc etc etc), leaving the transit area, and going through customs into Canada!?
