While cancellation fees are for the whole PNR, I'm pretty sure change fees are per bound, so if the issue is just changes, it's still fine to keep them as one-ways.
But partner fee + priority rewards mean I always book everything on one.
Unless I'm combining J and F and want to use a priority reward on the J... sigh.
