Oh interesting. The IATA travel map page is not updated to reflect that. If you select Maldives, it still shows the old info.

So it seems like it is updated, but maybe not propagated everywhere. I had not bothered going through the form because it requires so much input compared to the map, but evidently the map is not sourcing the info automatically when updated. Thanks for the tip.

  • Travellers (other than Maldivians, long-term visa holders and their dependents) travelling from South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini will be denied entry to the Maldives. This ban is also applicable to persons with travel history to these countries within the past 14 days or who had a transit for more than 12 hours.
  • Entry restriction also applies to the travellers who have been to these countries during the past 14 days and those who have transited in these countries for more than 12 hours before travelling to the Maldives.

Test Certificate Required
  • All travellers should hold a valid negative PCR test result with a sample taken at most 96 hours prior to the first port of embarkation, en-route to the Maldives. Children below the age of 1 (one) year are exempted.

Of course, QR also includes a real-time link to the page that now says no test required, so technically it's always up to date on that technicality
