I am new to Hyatt; achieved globalist lite by June of last year and my first stay in a Hyatt Centric was in July. I had a fairly negative assumption of the brand going in, and was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile in Chicago. Unfortunately, subsequent stays at other Hyatt Centrics have lowered my expectations for the brand. I agree it is similar to Doubletree in that both brands seem to lack consistent standards between hotels.

I have wondered why the other plain “Hyatt” hotels haven’t been rebranded as centric. What is the difference supposed to be between “Hyatt” and “Hyatt Centric”? Both brands seem to be all over the place and interchangeable in my eyes, although I’m glad to have received an explorer badge for both.
whats funny is I remember threads on Hilton and Marriott etc etc that had many folks saying why are all the hotels in the same brand all cookie cutter and theres no difference between them. Now we are saying the opposite why arent they all the same so I know exactly what I will get

Not saying which way is correct just pointing out a main difference that I thought was sort of funny that no matter what a program does it can never do right by all
