Is this normal behavior with Amex? Also while I’m thankful for it I don’t have space in my luggage as I tend to over pack… haha

lcb2013 not "normal" but it is not unheard of for CL's to give out small gifts to guests. Historically speaking this usually happens around the holidays or when lounges first open. Was the mug amex branded or just a generic mug? If it was generic, I feel like they just pawned some SWAG
they received from a vendor off on you lol
I have received two smart home devices (one Google, one Amazon Alexa) from CLs in the past - they often just hand gifts out
