A Solution to the MFU Tier Points Nonsense
I'll keep it short and simple:
1) Use BA.com's book-and-upgrade function to check if your dates are available for a MFU ticket.
2) Go to the regular Book With Money tool and purchase your ticket.
3) Immediately call BA and tell them you'd like to do a Miles For Upgrade.
4) Take your trip, and when you get back, enjoy the fact that your tier points will have posted without incident and you don't have to phone BA.
This has always worked for me and my traveling companions and the Cabin/Class shows up as J/W without fail. If booking a popular route close to travel date, probably best to do this at as odd an hour as possible within Exec Club's hours of operation.
