If so that seems bonkers! Is this still supposed to be a “hand run” service too? My observation is that if you were allowed a trolley this might go quicker. In the olden days on the Euro 767s in CE I’m pretty sure it was a kind of U shaped service with the trolley - ie starting at back of one side of the cabin and flowing round. I know it’s a bit less personal but it might be efficient and ensure the service is at least ‘out’? Would that work? IE ditch all this ordering nonsense - toilet bags and water pre departure instead of meal / drinks orders and then just load everything onto trolley with bar trolley followed by meal trolley then clear in by hand with offer of ‘anything else?’. I appreciate shiny members would risk not getting their first choice etc but it would make the service delivery / flow better?
Yes on 789 with current reduced crew complements, that's correct
1x galley
1x cabin crew1x sccm (IFM)

Service is still everything hand run in Club World.
Pre departure only the 2 X CC in CW available to do the pre take off service so won't have time to do washbags and waters on top of pre departure drinks, jackets, menus, and drinks and meal order + catering checks/ preps etc.

Trolleys don't fit down the aisles on aircrafts which have Club Suites so for consistency it's all hand run.

With reduced complements, the crew member is reduced from CW due to company seeing it as a 'one tray service.

That's if the crew level doesn't fall below the already reduced complement. If you have sickness, disruption, covid test fail, shortage etc then it goes below the already reduced complement.
