Nice gesture. I expect it will just have been a sccm trying to go extra mile (unless this is a pilot scheme / test) on what is a longer sector. Presumably this will have come from CE bar and after service in CE complete with knowledge that inbound was a low load so can afford to do it without leaving inbound bar depleted.
Would be nice to be the the new norm - who knows! The
flight attendant mentioned it was with the compliments of the cabin manager just to say thanks and welcome back (thou i never stopped flying during the pandemic to be fair). The drink did indeed did come from the CE bar once the meals been served, i think we were about 1.5hrs into the journey, there seemed to about 4 golds slumming in the back based on the number of drinks that headed aft.
