With the 787-9 ETOPS qualified for 330 minutes (5.5 hours), that is does not require Russian airports as an option.
ANC-NRT is 3,433 miles and there are other Aleutian airports


Would UA use and get access in an appropriate circumstance -- I would think that would be a yes.
