I received the credit on the purchase of a $5 wifi pass on the new Viasat system used on some (all?) A321s and 739s, possibly among other aircraft types. The credit has never worked on the old Gogo system, but the Viasat pass showed up as a Delta transaction on my card. I also paid with Apple Pay and it still worked.
