I have had it for at least 10 years. If I am in a country for two weeks or more I get a local sim card. I hope this helps.
Before the Great Covid Scare back in 2020, I had a few trips planned and had purchased 4 Three UK sims for the two of us. All trips were cancelled but I also believed that the sims would not expire. Well, that has not been true. Last week I tried to activate one of the sim plans and it did nothing. I contacted the Three website Chat, and was told that after 6 months they are now expired and cannot be used.
I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. It allows two esims to be active at the same time, so travel esims are the best option for me now. It also has a sim slot and that can be active at the same time as an esim. Seems like the most flexible device for a traveler. I might consider Three again if they would finally implement esim service instead of the sim cards though. I also travel with an iPad Mini 5 and Pro 11" and they both have esim capability and make for great hot spots if you are traveling with others.
