Yesterday our BOS-DFW segment was auto-upgraded for both of us. This caused me to worry about the Extra Seat I'd bought, particularly preserving all three of the exit row seats for our DFW-PSP segment. Fortunately the BOS gate agent understood the problem and scanned our Exst boarding pass for 17E too, so everything worked smoothly when boarding in Dallas.

BOS-DFW we had 1E and 2F, but the guy in 1F switched so we traveled in 1E and 1F. We agree we would have preferred the three exit row seats, so I need to figure out how to avoid auto-upgrades now.

It's not clear whether my wife's auto-upgrade was tied to mine, or independent because she's Gold.
