Yes, but, see below, depending on the branch they may ask you to use the ATM.

I've been asked to do this the last few times I paid cash, even for several thousand dollars. The Chase ATMs are pretty darn smart, they seem ahead of BofA and WF.

I do it to skip the intervening steps (and potentially associated recordkeeping) of depositing to a personal account and then paying online. Or because I happen to be traveling in a state like Kentucky that has Chase but no Bank of America or Wells Fargo branches. Sometimes I travel with large sums of post-tax funds and then need to redeposit them, as lots of people I know do. Dropping the cash on a credit card is an easy way to do that.
