Not when BA was paying 2p!
Even at 1p it's OK if you have too many avios, and can acquire more for less than 1p (e.g. nectar).
Anyway taking an e-voucher obliges you to use the credit with BA, so you've sold the avios to BA whether you end up vouchering the booking or flying it. Unfortunately, if BA cancels the flight and you opt for a refund, BA does refund the avios, rather than paying you actual money at 1p or 2p.
