Here's an atypical location for you as it's pretty obvious there are tons of places out West or in the mountain areas.
My recommendation is Hyatt Regency Greenville, which is in South Carolina. From there, you have tons of hiking options within an hour as it's fairly close to the Appalachian trail. Also, it has one of the best rated city bike trails in the nation. It's easy to rent bikes and then bike along the paved trails along the river and crossing over multiple times using several small bridges.
The hotel is in downtown Greenville. Although it's a small city, it's beautiful with a very lively downtown area and an amazing riverwalk that actually has a waterfall with a pedestrian only bridge. Tons of great restaurants. All this is within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Oh! And my wife and I went to a dessert only restaurant called "Better than Sex" which is a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. Very unique and the desserts were amazing. It's a very unique experience.
And the best part? It's only 8,000 points for their standard rate. I've gotten a suite upgrade every time. Globalist breakfast is at a local restaurant where they have an amazing buffet that non-hotel guests pay for. Just including the breakfast fare and the covered city parking will nearly make up the value of 8,000 points!
