Why don't you use the miles for F tickets to Europe? Then those hotel points will be worth 20 cents apiece since F tickets to Europe are $10k!! And I'm sure there's a hotel over there somewhere with a 699 Euro price tag printed on the back of the door...that makes 'em worth even more! In fact, I'll cut you a sweetheart deal and sell you all of my Starpoints for 8 cents each. Since MR points are worth a lot less, I'll let those go for 3 cents each...
