My guess is it will vary. I landed around 10:30 pm and had a connecting flight at 6am. The scanner at the security checkpoint beeped red, but i ended up just getting waved around, so spend my layover at one of the domestic lounges between 11pm and 5am. Not sure I'd be willing to bet on this but it doesn't appear to be uniformly enforced.
