My wife and son have AA flight credits which expire on April 24 in their names, and we are not going to be in a good position to travel until early May. While I am an AAdvantage member they aren't/weren't at the time. Is there a best way to proceed to try and get these flight credits extended? Or if a conversion to Trip Credits is still possible and resets the one-year expiration clock, is that as simple as a phone call/DM (or some online process to force the conversion rather than waiting for AA to do it on its own)? Or can I book a flight before April 24, then do a fee-free change to a date in May without causing issues? Any advice on if I can find a way to use these flight credits for May travel would be most helpful. Thanks!
