LOL, Hyatt took away my wonderful “free” top elite breakfasts years ago when they massively increased the qualification requirements for top elite status as they killed Good Passport. Obviously, those who are still able to qualify under WoH don’t remember or care, and that’s fine, but it would IMHO not be smart to believe that free breakfast is some sort of god-given right that isn’t subject to change ever. Now, I have no idea if the statements of the employee the OP spoke with are grounded in reality. But would it shock me if Hyatt eventually followed a similar approach as Hilton? Nope. Obviously, enjoy your free lobster bennies while you can. And if benefits change, consider what is best for you. Because I assure you, Hyatt and their franchisees are considering every day what is best for them. Which sometimes might align with your interests, and sometimes not.
