Quick follow-up on this... We were able to get home, paying OOP for another airline. In addition to the DBC payment (for 4 ppx not all 5), we received an email yesterday saying that all 5 unused one-way tickets were refunded/credited back to our credit card. 4 ppx DBC plus 5 one-way tickets refunded approximately netted out the alternate airline tickets. I'm still dealing with the luggage and OOP expenses incurred due to being without clothing/toiletries. It sounds like a "reasonable" reimbursement is possible per Frontier's policies.
The other surprise is a $1,000 travel voucher, which is issued to a 2-yr old. The voucher has to be redeemed within 90 days, cannot be transferred, cannot be used to book a group (undefined?), and is a one-time use. I'm trying to gain an understanding of what is considered a group, and whether or not I can book the entire family using this voucher -- e.g., multiple parties in one reservation? From what I read on their FAQ, it looks like the answer is no. I assume I understand this correctly...?
