It was and still was when there, $30 off to account for the breakfast inclusion. It was the 20% food & beverage discount for certain elite members that was around for a few months and then went away at the start of the year - I think that made it more of a debate on whether to go a la carte or do a meal plan among Platinum+.

I found the meal plan to be a good choice. I was worried I might be overstuffed or like I'd feel "forced" to take advantage of it, but with as much swimming/walking/biking as I did, I was usually pretty hungry for every meal! I can see why vegetarians/vegans might prefer to go a la carte since fish and meat entrees tended to be more highly priced. Also worth it if you like a few drinks. While they say alcohol in the minibar is only replenished every 4 days, I left a cash tip to housekeeping daily and found the wine replenished and never charged for if I'd had it (the white was a sauvignon blanc if that detail interests you - can't recall what the red was as I tend more toward white wine in such climes). Nice to enjoy a glass on your private deck overlooking the sea...I miss it terribly!
