UA must have updated their system to speed up the refund process.

The Economy Plus fee was refunded within 2 days after moving from one E+ seat to another E+ seat(different prices)

On the day of the flight, I paid for an upgrade at the check-in counter(live agent). The upgrade fee was instantly charged. The original E+ fee was refunded to my credit card before the flight took off.
